Scott Adams Didn't Convert To Christianity

(This has been edited in the name of correction. See Proverbs 6:23 and I Corinthians 4:5. Who knows if Mr. Adams truly believed between his "deathbed confession" and death?)

Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert comic strip, has died and is likely in Hell. Mr. Adams "deathbed confession" did not convert him. Why? Because Mr. Adams still admitted he is not a believer.

The ex-wife of Scott Adams read the following pre-recorded message of Mr. Adams:

"Next, many of my Christian friends have asked me to find Jesus before I go. I'm not a believer, but I have to admit, the risk/reward calculation for doing so looks so attractive to me, so here I go: I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and look forward to spending an eternity with Him. The part about me not being a believer should be quickly resolved if I wake up in Heaven; I won't need any more convincing than that."

The Bible says:

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, AND shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

It is not enough to say that "Jesus is Lord" (as the NIV would say), or that you "accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior". In fact, Jesus Himself says:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Mat 7:21-23)

In fact, in the most quoted verse of the Bible, John 3:16, it is FAITH, and NOT merely saying you "accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior" that saves you:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (Joh 3:16)

Scott Adams has admitted, even upon his "deathbed confession" that he is not a believer, and also, that by saying that "I won't need any more convincing than [waking up in Heaven]", he is admitting that he still needs convincing. His testimony of non-belief is valid, says Matthew 12:34 and Luke 6:45:

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. (Mat 12:34)

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. (Luk 6:45)

Since Scott Adams didn't believe, and if he died in this non-belief, the following is true of him:

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (Joh 8:24)
